What happens if you don't answer the door for FedEx? ›

If you missed your delivery, we'll leave a door tag for you. It has a number that's associated with your package's original tracking number and the steps you can take to locate your package.

FedEx Standard Overnight – delivered the next day, before the end of the day. FedEx 2Day AM – delivered the second business day before noon. FedEx 2Day – delivered the second business day before the end of the day. FedEx Express Saver – delivery depends upon location, but usually between 2-4 business days.

At a local FedEx facility means that your package has arrived at a local FedEx facility and is awaiting the next steps to move toward its final destination. If your package status is 'At a local FedEx facility': Your package is still on its journey.

If a shipment requires, either an indirect, direct or adult signature, and a delivery attempt is made, but no one is there to sign for the package, the driver will leave a door tag at the recipient's door. If no signature is required, the shipment will be left at the recipient's door.

I'm picking up a missed delivery.

FedEx will hold your package for up to 7 days for both FedEx Ground^® service and FedEx Express^® service before it's returned to the shipper. You'll need to bring your tracking number, government-issued photo ID, and your door tag number.

Choose FedEx Express when you need it there fast, with delivery by a definite time, and you're willing to spend a little more. FedEx Ground is a good option when saving on shipping costs is more important than shipping speed.

Generally, we make deliveries from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries. Residential deliveries may be eligible to be redirected to a nearby FedEx location or participating retail location like Walgreens or Dollar General to be held for pickup for up to 7 days.

Shipments receive updates at various points in their journeys between pickup and delivery. The frequency of scans may vary and it is not unusual for a shipment that's on its way to go more than 24 hours without an update, especially during periods of long travel.

Can I call FedEx to see where my package is? ›

If we didn't deliver your package on time, you may be able to request a refund or an adjusted invoice.

If you're the shipper and you want your package to arrive faster than the 2 day shipping time specified, sign in to your FedEx account or please call customer support to change your shipping speed. The shipping cost may be adjusted.

We will contact your shipper to inform them of your decision and ask them whether the shipment needs to be returned or destroyed.

How can I request a redelivery? In most cases, FedEx will attempt to deliver your package three times before returning it to the shipper. In case a courier is unable to leave your package, the courier will try to call you to check your availability and attempt the delivery.

Generally, FedEx requires a signature on all deliveries. However, we may be able to leave your package without a signature on the following conditions: - Have a suitable secure location to leave your package. - Your signature on the delivery attempt notice.

Yes, you can still pick up your package without your door tag as long as you have the tracking number and a government-issued photo identification that includes the recipient's address with you at the time of pickup.
